Editing you blog

• To gain access to the page where you can edit your blog click on site admin on the main page and it takes you to a page that has all your informtion and tabs along the left hand side.

Navigating your blog

• To navigate your way around the blog use the tabs along the left hand side on the dashboard page to edit and play with your blog and the settings.
• On your blog home page, use the tabs to either get back to the dashboard page or to navigate your way around your blog with different posts, links and categories.
• To get back to your home page, click on your blog title at the top of the page and it will take you back.

Changing the blog title and tagline

• Once you have created your blog you will probably want to change the title of your blog and the tagline underneath for cosmetic purposes.
• To do this go to the dashboard page and click on the “SETTINGS” tab and from the dropdown menu select “GENERAL”
• You can then go through and change the general settings to suit yourself.

 

Changing the theme

• To change the theme of the blog go to the “APPEARANCE” tab and choose “THEMES”
• Then choose a theme for the selection to activate as your blog theme
• You can preview what these themes will look like by clicking on preview under the theme design.
• Once you have chosen a theme you can edit the header by choosing “CUSTOM HEADER” from the “APPEARANCE” tab.

Adding and editing a post

• To add a post, from the dashboard page click on the tab that says “POST”
• Then either choose “ADD NEW” if you want to add a new post or “EDIT” if you want to edit a pre existing post.

Inserting an image in a post

• To insert an image in a post, in the “EDIT” mode of the “POST” section, above the box you write in you will find the words “UPLOAD/INSERT”
• To the right of that there is a series of icons, choose the first one which is “ADD AN IMAGE”
• Then browse for an image and click upload
• Once uploaded you can then move the image around the post.

To add a link

• To add a link to your blog page, from the dashboard page, click on the tab that says “LINKS”
• “ADD NEW”
• Then make a name for the link and add the url
• Once happy with the link click  “ADD LINK” on the right hand side of the page and the new link will be added to your blog page

Categories

• To sort the links, you can create categories with themes for the different links to make navigating your blog page easier.
• You can also do this with posts
• To create a new category, click on the “LINKS” tab
• Then from the drop down menu click on the “LINK CATEGORIES” tab
• Then title a category and save the link to it
• It is the same process for creating post categories, only you click on “POSTS”, then “CATEGORIES”.

Inserting widgets

• To insert a widget choose “WIDGETS” from the “APPEARANCE” tab
• Then choose the widgets that you would like to have included on your blog page.
